Use no other generic remotes, such as cable, Xfinity, or DirectTV.

Many users who had this volume issue reported that they fixed it by following the steps above, but that the volume issue reappeared as soon as they used a different remote.

It’s unclear why this is happening, but a signal from the generic remote is most likely interfering with your Samsung TV remote and causing issues.

The simplest solution is to simply discard the other remotes.

4. Restart your television

It’s probably also worth power cycling your TV for a soft reset for good measure. This usually resolves intermittent issues that arise from time to time.

Simply unplug your Samsung TV from the wall and wait approximately 30 seconds.

Before plugging it back in, press and hold the TV’s power button for at least 10 seconds. Don’t use the power button on the remote; instead, use the power button on the TV!

As a last resort, you can contact the Samsung Contact Center at 1-800-726-7864 (8 am-12 am EST, 7 days a week) and request remote assistance.

2. Choose Remote Management and then read and accept the service agreements. When the PIN screen appears, give the agent the PIN number.

3. The agent will then gain access to your television.
